A§E® (Auditory Speech Sounds Evaluation)
The Auditory Speech Sound Evaluation (A§E®) is
a psycho-acoustic test suite with supraliminal auditory tests to assess the
coding of intensity, spectral and temporal content of sound. It is
conceived to test children and adults with hearing problems and aided with
a conventional hearing aid or cochlear implant. It is speech- and language independent
allowing analytical assessment of the supraliminal auditory capacity.
Audiqueen can read and show all A§E® results. Through the “New Measurement” function,
it opens A§E and executes the selected test.
A§E® detection
The A§E® detection results are shown for different test dates. The condition of
the ear (aided or unaided) is specified. Fields are green when the phoneme could
be detected or red if not. The intensity (70 dB) is shown when it is different from
the standard intensity (20 dB) as defined in the settings.
A§E® discrimination
The A§E® discrimination results are shown for the basic set of 20 phoneme contrasts.
Fields are green when the contrast could be discriminated by the test person, or
red if not.
A§E® identification
The A§E® identification results are shown as overall score per test. The underlying
confusion matrices are visualized by clicking on a single test result. Green color
shows that the identification task (e.g. /a-i-ε-o-u/) was achieved by the test person,
red color shows that the test person failed to achieve the task. In the latter case,
the /a/ was presented 3 times and it was twice identified correctly, once as /u/.
The /u/ was presented 3 times and identified correctly in 1 occasion.
A§E® loudness scaling
The same functionality is available for A§E loudness scaling test results
A§E® localization
The same functionality is available for A§E localization test results
